The signature style of the renowned Scottish Fochebers studio established a standard that has lasted for over a century and classic U.K. fish carvings are easily distinguished by specific traits.
The fish is typically carved as a half or two-thirds body side-profile. The carved fish is permanently mounted onto a high-quality hardwood panel and features an inscribed description detailing the captor's name, the fish's weight, the river or loch, and the date of the catch.
Carrying on this tradition as an alternative to fish taxidermy mounts, my bespoke life size, hand carved wooden fish, are very much created to each client's specification and, are all individually painted in their natural colours, textured and detailed by myself from my workshop here in North Wales.
Do you have a photograph of an historic fishing catch you would like replicating in wood?
Maybe a memorable 'fishing tale' you would like preserving for future generations?
